The Wasted Issue

The C/O Vienna Magazine reports on charismatic people, projects and places. People we meet stories we heard. This issue about beauty is an extremely sensual magazine. It is produced with passion and attention to detail. It is a tribute to old magazine tradition in its feel, format and graphics and yet a clever reinterpretation. You can not only look at beautiful pictures, read fantastic journalistic stories and interviews, see photo galleries and art works, but also smell it (Rub the yellow surface! p. 182-191), hear it (Scan the code! p. 303) and build it three-dimensionally (Pop-up by documenta artist Peter Kogler on p. 298-301). This issue is dedicated to all facets of beauty: We interviewed a stable master who looks after the most beautiful horses in the world, the Lippizians. Who if not Chris Austin Hadsfield, probably the most famous astronaut in the world, can tell us something about the beauty of the world: We interviewed him! We explored the beauty of the deep, of stones and tears, talked to the famous fragrance expert Sissel Tolaas about smelling or asked blind people about beauty beyond the visual.
The 304-page magazine produced in Vienna is published once a year in German and English – parallel to the weekly online edition. It is a local format for the international audience. Our slogan: People we met, stories we heard!
C/O Vienna Magazine has won the Silberne Venus (Creative Club Austria), the highest award in Austria, for its editorial design. The German industry magazine „Page – Design.Code.Business“ wrote „The C/O Vienna Magazine has become an institution for people interested in culture not only in Austria“.
